For Beginners and Experts

Trekking

Trekking, hiking and walking is what we’re all about and is undoubtedly our most popular activity thanks to the unlimited choice of itineraries and stunning scenery in this part of the Alps.

The Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB), Haute Route and trekking in the Chamonix valley are particularly popular itineraries. Trekking in Zermatt, and around the Matterhorn as well as below the Eiger are superb itinerates too. It is even possible to trek in all three areas in the same trip.

Your trips can be graded as anything from easy day hikes discovering the wild flowers to classic Alpine traverses, mountain circuits and point-to-point treks enjoying remote locations and the full majesty of the area.

For the more experienced hiker, tougher trekking routes and 4000 m summits await.

Activities

Trekking is just one of the many summer activities on offer in the Alps; how about paragliding, mountain scooters, road cycling, mountain biking, white water rafting, climbing, crevasse exploration, trail running and much more?

There are many different activities available and trips can be made to suit all levels and ages whether this is for free day optional activities or organised corporate adventures.

Discovery

Many visitors to the Alps come not just for adventure and activity but for the fresh air, stunning views, historical towns and villages and diverse culture and cuisines. The Alps have been populated for 1000’s of years and have a rich, fascinating history and old-world charm whilst also providing the comforts and facilities modern travellers enjoy.

It would be fair to say that all our trips have an element of discovery.

Accommodation

Popular Alpine towns like Chamonix, Zermatt and Interlaken offer top class accommodation, restaurants, luxury spas and all the comforts a modern traveller could wish for.

There is something for everyone from 5 star luxury with health spas and fine dining to cosy mountain refuges as well a wide choice of excellent 2 and 3 star comfortable establishments.

In more remote valleys the accommodation tends to be traditional family run hotels with clean and simple en-suite rooms as well as dormitory rooms.

Higher in the mountains Alpine refuges offer simple dormitory style accommodation, a unique and memorable experience.

The Alps is also the perfect destination for camping with excellent, well-equipped campsites offering hot showers, electricity and WIFI. We are experts at delivering this great value option; your trips are fully supported with a dedicated camp crew doing all the setup, cooking delicious meals and striving to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We can offer unlimited, high quality, single tents as well as mattress and sleeping bag hire. Camping does not mean roughing it, instead it is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors and experience the Alps. Camping is very well suited to groups and creating a group atmosphere and shared experience.

Food

Food is a pleasure and experiencing local cuisine is a key element to a wonderful trip.

Alpine destinations such as Chamonix and Zermatt have become renowned for the wide range of restaurants on offer; you’ll find everything from regional cuisine to fine dining, fusion, pizzeria’s, gourmet burgers and take away snacks.

In more remote valleys hotels offer a fixed group menu of starter, main course and dessert, a limited à la carte menu is available in some hotels. Of course allergies and dietary requirements can be catered for.

Mountain huts rely on helicopters for supplies so can only offer a fixed menu of home cooked hearty cuisine nevertheless there is always a good selection of local wine and beers on offer!

On camping trips, we prepare freshly made nutritious dishes with local ingredients and the quality is equivalent to the hotel fixed menu.

Transport

Most of our clients fly into Geneva airport. The transfer time to Chamonix is 1 hour 15 mins, usually by private minibus, for Zermatt or the Bernese Oberland it takes approximately 3 hours. In many cases using the train is also an excellent option.

We have our own transport licence and a small fleet of minibuses. We also charter in services from our high quality trusted local transport partner when necessary.

Whenever possible, we try to use local transport such as the train and bus system which are punctual, great value, good quality and, of course, the best option for the environment.

Group leaders & crew

All our trekking trips are led by qualified and highly trained International Mountain Leaders or IML’s. This is a legal obligation in the mountians of Europe. As well as looking after your safety, their goal is to provide an amazing day out in the mountains. Our leaders strive to offer you the best possible experience; they are organised, informative and great fun on the hill. Off the hill they are slick and well organised tour managers ensuring the logistics of the trip run smoothly.

You can trust us to lead your trips alone, but if you want to provide your own leader too, then they will be warmly welcomed into our team.

We also have a team of well trained and highly competent support crew who set up the camps or chalets, shop and cook and welcome your clients with a warm smile and cold drink, as well as ensuring the logistics of the trip run without a hitch.

We provide comprehensive training for all leaders and crew new to our team. We also provide regular ongoing training, feedback and reviews to all our personnel to ensure they are the best they can be.

Equipment

Clients are expected to come with good quality walking boots, clothes and backpacks as well as all their personal items. We will provide or hire all other equipment needed.

On camp we have large mess tents, outside catering kitchens and great personal tents that are 100% waterproof however much it rains. We have good quality sleeping mats and sleeping bags available for hire.

24/7 local management

We are based in Sion, Switzerland, in the heart of the Alps. The majority of booking and organising trips happens in our office. However, on the ground, we have a base manager that ensures all the leaders have all they need to run successful, well-organised trips.

If something goes wrong (flights delays, someone needs to go home early etc..) then our leaders and base manager are there, either in person or with our 24/7 phone contact, to help.

Management of risk

We are insured to operate all the activities we offer, as are our suppliers. We assess all our trips to ensure that risk is managed properly, clients are correctly equipped and informed and our crew have the skills needed and fully understand their responsibilities and duties.

Our systems and methods follow best practice and represent the highest standards demanded in our sector.

We will look after you, your business and your clients
